How the ranking works

Honest answers on DR, dofollow, verdicts, and tracking — so you know what the board is actually measuring.

How is the leaderboard ranked?

Each directory gets a quality score built from its editorial tier (top pick to skip), how well it fits SaaS and startup products, whether it is hand-curated, its Ahrefs DR4 score, and whether the link is dofollow. High DR alone does not win: a DR 95 site that ignores product submissions ranks below a DR 60 directory that actually lists you. Sort by "Highest DR" if you only care about authority.

Are the domain ratings real?

Yes. Every one of the 1001 directories has a domain rating pulled from the Ahrefs free DR API, last refreshed Oct 8, 2026. Signed-in users also get the DR of their own domain snapshotted daily so they can watch it climb.

What do the verdict badges mean?

TOP PICK and RECOMMENDED are the directories we would submit to first. WORTH IT is a solid, real listing. OPTIONAL means verify the fit before spending time. LOW PRIORITY and SKIP are thin or off-topic sites that we keep on the board so you know not to bother.

Dofollow or nofollow — does it matter?

654 of the 1001 directories give a dofollow link, which passes link equity to your domain. Nofollow links (Product Hunt, Reddit, Hacker News) still send real traffic and brand searches, so both belong in a launch plan — just for different reasons.

Are free directories worth it?

843 of these directories are free, and 520 of those are free and dofollow. Free listings are usually reviewed by hand, so approval takes days to weeks. Paid tiers mostly buy speed or placement, not a stronger link.

Is the Chrome extension free?

Yes. The autofill extension, the full leaderboard and the submission tracker are free with no account. You save your product once and the extension fills name, tagline, descriptions, logo, screenshots, category and tags on any submission form.

Is DR tracking free?

Yes. Sign in, add your product and SEOmade tracks its Ahrefs Domain Rating, marks each listing on the chart when it goes live, and gives you a public growth page to share. The only paid part is the API and MCP server for AI agents.

How do I track what I have submitted?

Use the Track column on any row. Statuses save in your browser with no account. Sign in to sync them to a project, get daily DR snapshots for your own domain, and let the Chrome extension tick off submissions as you make them.
